Cosalt’s debut at Spanish show
28 April 2008
COSALT will be making its debut this year at Spain's biggest maritime exhibition.
The three-day Vigo International Naval Industry Fair (NAVALIA) will be held in the Galacian port next month.
Cosalt will be one of 300 companies exhibiting from Tuesday to Thursday, May 20-22.
Jordi Montserrrat, General Manager and Jesus López, Sales Manager of the group's Spanish arm, Sisternas de Seguridad Maritima (Cosalt SSM) will be representing the company on Area I, stand number 5 at the IFEVI exhibition venue.
Barcelona-based SSM was acquired by Cosalt last summer and had been integrated into its Marine Safety Division.
Vigo is the world's biggest fishing port, a major commercial and naval hub and a cruise ship destination - areas of business which fit perfectly into the Cosalt portfolio.
The company will be promoting its range of maritime and safety equipment including ropes, liferafts, lifejackets, EPIRB's (radio beacons), lifebuoys, immersion suits and fire-fighting equipment.
"Vigo is an area in Spain where most of the shipyards are and it's a good opportunity for Cosalt to present the new company in Spain," said Diana Corominas Guerin, Cosalt SSM General Manager.
"We will be targeting the professional market in Spain and Portugal."
Some 20,000 professionals from the maritime sector, both commercial and recreational, are expected to visit NAVALIA.
They will viewing the products and services of some 300 exhibitors from 50 countries, including France, Italy, Portugal, the UK, USA, Canada, China, Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Norway and Germany.
NAVALIA event manager Javier Diaz Arnau said the exhibition would present the latest in maritime technology. One of its objectives was to serve as a promotional tool for the Spanish maritime sector.
Cosalt SSM is involved in the supply, maintenance and testing of marine safety equipment - from liferafts and lifejackets through to flares, first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
The company also offers a radio beacon testing and maintenance service and its trained technicians can install and maintain fire prevention equipment.
