Cosalt supplies projects worldwide

COSALT is supplying hawsers for oil projects in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and south west Africa.

The company won an order for the Van Gogh development off Australia's North West Cape.

It provided a new-build complete tandem offshore mooring hawser assembly and spares for Prosafe Production Systems Pte Ltd of Singapore.

It will be used on Prosafe's FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel the MT Kudson.

The MT Kudson will be linked to two subsea drill centres which will have 10 production wells.

The Van Gogh field, in 350m (1,140ft) of water, will be on stream in 2009 and supply the Asian market.

Cosalt has supplied a similar system to Prosafe for the deepwater Azurite development in the Mer Profonde Sud Block offshore from the Republic of the Congo.

Prosafe will convert a tanker, the MT Europe, into a Floating Drilling, Production, Storage and Offloading unit (FDPSO) on the field. This is the first time an FPSO will be developed which includes a mobile drilling rig.  The vessel will be spread-moored at a water depth of 1,400 metres.

Another tandem hawser assembly has been delivered for the Maari oilfield project in New Zealand.

This was awarded by Tanker Pacific Offshore Terminals of Singapore, the world's largest offshore storage provider, which will be supplying an FPSO. It will process and store the oil before offloading to tankers.

The Maari field is in the Tasman Sea between the North and South Islands and is being developed by OMV, Central Europe's leading oil and gas group.

Tanker Pacific has also asked Cosalt for a full hawser assembly for Vietnam's Su Tu Vang field for delivery this month.

Vietnam is South East Asia's third largest oil producer and the Su Tu Vang (Golden Lion)  field, operated by ConocoPhillips,  lies in the South China Sea, east of Ho Chi Minh city (formerly Saigon) and is set to begin operating later this year.
