Cosalt Offshore awarded ISO 14001 certification

14 October 2009
Cosalt Offshore, a provider of lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil and gas industry, has been awarded ISO 14001 certification in recognition of the company's commitment towards looking after the environment.
With environmental impact a key concern for the entire offshore industry, this certification is part of a long-term corporate commitment to sustainable development, guaranteeing that each stage of the company's processes is evaluated, checked and approved according to strict standards.
Sandy Gowing, managing director of Cosalt Offshore's Cosalt Compliance division, said: "Environmental issues are moving further up the business agenda every day and it was important to us to exceed industry norms and achieve best practice across our operations to limit our environmental impact.
"ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognised standard and extremely highly-regarded. Achieving the certification is one of our biggest successes this year. The work we put into reaching the standard has already helped us become more aware of the impact we have on our environment and has improved our performance as a company.''
Cosalt Offshore has 300 personnel based in Aberdeen and a further 110 at its operations in Stavanger and Lowestoft, with plans to take on an additional 50 people over the next year.
