Cosalt at SMM 2010 - Hall B1.UF Stand 120

26 July 2010
Visitors to this year's SMM exhibition will be able to find out more about Cosalt's extensive range of products and services for the cruise, ferry, cargo, tanker and offshore shipping markets on stand Hall B1.UF Stand 120.
The company is one of the few suppliers with the resources to co-ordinate the supply and servicing of safety equipment across Europe. It has a European-wide business network that spans 25 separate locations. Seventeen of these bases are fully approved liferaft and lifejacket service stations.
At this year's show the company will be highlighting the ground-breaking Premier 2010 inherently buoyant lifejacket and its new improved Seacrewsader 2010 and the Crewfit Twin 2010 inflatable lifejackets. Cosalt will also be featuring its portfolio of general and specialist mooring ropes.
Cosalt's Premier 2010 lifejacket was one of the first inherently buoyant lifejackets in the world to be approved to the more stringent safety at sea Maritime Safety Committee regulations (MSC20(80)) that came into force on 1st July 2010. Already well received in the market, the company's latest order was to supply the lifejacket to P&O Ferries to equip their new super ferries, 'Spirit of Britain' and 'Spirit of France'.
The new Crewsaver branded Seacrewsader 2010 lifejacket meets SOLAS 2010 regulations (MSC200(80)) and delivers increased performance in the most demanding environments. With a 60g cylinder fitted to each symmetrical inflation chamber, it provides 290N buoyancy for added protection when wearing heavy work gear. The lifejacket is also suitable for use with most immersion and abandonment suits. The new design is easier to don and outperforms the new SOLAS requirements with improved body angle, mouth freeboard and face plane angles. A new unique inflation chamber (patent pending) is designed to provide unrivalled comfort and support.
Cosalt has also redesigned its Crewfit Twin lifejacket to meet SOLAS 2010 regulations (MSC200(80)). The Crewfit Twin 2010 is fitted with twin Auto Hammar mechanisms. Like the Seacrewsader 2010 it features a new unique inflation chamber and offers improved body angle, mouth freeboard and face plane angles.
SMM will also provide Cosalt with a focus for promoting its competitive range of mooring rope products for cruise and ferry ships as well as its OCIMF approved mooring ropes for tankers and cargo vessels. In the offshore market Cosalt specialises in bespoke single point mooring systems and the supply of high-strength ropes manufactured from HMPE fibres. Other key products include its Emergency Towing Systems and products for the tug and salvage and military markets. Cosalt works closely with its rope customers to make sure they use the right type of product for a specific application.
