Net result brings smiles

WHILE Grimsby Town were competing at the home of football, Cosalt was helping kids enjoy playing soccer in less salubrious surroundings.
The new Wembley Stadium hosted the Mariners in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on March 30 but 4,500 miles away in East Africa children were having just as much fun.
For they were using goal nets made by Cosalt in Grimsby and donated to a school in Kenya.
It all came about through Cosalt's trading links with ITM (Independent Twine Manufacturers) of Wrexham.
Explained Cosalt sales manager for nets, Bob Emmitt: "We deal with ITM and a family member there does a lot of work supporting a school in Kenya in an area which is desperately poor.
"We heard that though they play football they just have wooden frames for goals, so that when somebody scores they have to race off into the wilds in their bare feet to get the ball back.
"We said we could help. We were able to make them a set of nets in Grimsby and ITM was able to get them taken to the school."
The gift was well received with local dignitaries getting together to express their thanks to the companies and individuals involved.
ITM was also able to get hold of some second hand strips and footballs and ship them over so the children could emulate their heroes.
Who needs Wembley!
