Minister says yes to Cosalt visit

17 March 2008
COSALT International will be exhibiting at the Glasgow Fishing Exhibition in April - and Scottish Fisheries Minister Richard Lochhead will be visiting the company's stand.
He has accepted an invitation from Carol MacDonald, supervisor of the company's Fraserburgh branch.
Cosalt International has played a significant role in the Scottish Fishing Industry for almost 50 years, supplying fishermen with quality lifesaving equipment and life rafts.
And Carol is a real champion of that industry. Her role as one of the 'Cod Crusaders' took her all the way to Westminster.
She said: "While fishermen depend on Cosalt for our range of life saving equipment, they also depend on the Fisheries Minister to keep their industry afloat."
"The exhibition is vitally important because it shows the fishing industry the new products that are available."
The annual exhibition, from Thursday, April 3 to Saturday, April 5 (10am to 5pm) is being held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Being in Glasgow it is also convenient for Northern Ireland fishermen.
Cosalt has expanded its profile at the exhibition this year because of the great interest shown in its products at the 2007 event.
As well as lifesaving equipment the company can provide ironmongery, rope and chandlery supplies. It offers on-site boarding ladders, made to requirements, and pre-DTI inspections can also be carried out by staff at Fraserburgh.
Added Carol: "We at Cosalt International take pride in contributing to the safety measures taken by fishermen and look forward to continuing to provide the industry with our first class service."
Cosalt can be found on stall A50 where there will also be exhibition-only offers on Fladen Fishing Wear.
