RFD Beaufort, part of the Survitec Group of companies, has been at the forefront of the marine safety and survival market for 90 years. They are the world leader in survival technology.

Today, the company operates from two sites in the UK - the Dunmurry site in Northern Ireland and the Birkenhead site in England.

RFD currently has over 60% share of the commercial liferaft market in the UK.

Cosalt has enjoyed a close working relationship with RFD for over fifty years and is the largest RFD distributor in the UK.  In recent years the two businesses have combined on several major marine projects, one of the largest and most recent was the replacement of approximately 70 liferafts for a client in the offshore sector. The work was handled by Cosalt's Aberdeen office.

With the acquisition of the Bofort Group in December 2006 and SSM, Barcelona in July 2007, Cosalt is now one of RFD's largest distributor and service providers in the world.

RFD personnel audit all of Cosalt's liferaft service centres and all of Cosalt's service engineers are fully trained by RFD training managers. In addition Cosalt purchases liferaft spare parts directly from RFD Beaufort. Such items are highly regulated to meet the stringent industry standards laid out by the Marine Equipment Directive.
