Jo Stamp – Key Accounts Manager
One day she will be in hard-hat and overalls pricing testing and inspection work to be carried out by Cosalt's engineers. The next she will be offering advice on training or inspection procedures to senior managers. From east to west and back again on the M62, she is always on the move and rarely behind a desk.
Put simply, she has a passion for all things to do with the installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of beams, hoists, chain blocks and other rigging and lifting equipment.
"I love the job which is a mix of sales, technical support and consultancy. Everyday is different and presents a new set of challenges. I really enjoy getting into the detail of why a piece of equipment is not functioning correctly or why a process is not as efficient as it should be. It's my job to solve problems."
She joined Cosalt in 2004 after 15 years learning her trade with a rival business and passing her Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) qualifications. For Jo it was an opportunity to develop the industrial side of Cosalt's rigging and lifting business. She was initially put in charge of developing the refinery market but now works with other major construction, manufacturing and utility companies in the area.
Jo works very closely with customers as part of their team and maintains a hands-on approach to looking after their requirements. "I want them to get the best out of what Cosalt has to offer and the only way to do that is to work alongside them, talk to them and be completely open and honest in all your dealings. This is a people business and relationships are the key.
"That is why Cosalt is a great company to work. They leave you to get on with the job and use your initiative. I always feel valued and appreciated. That comes from the top down. Our MD will take time to chat to you personally and express an interest in how everything is progressing. It is a very supportive culture which is great when you consider how much Cosalt has grown as a business in recent years."
